Human Rights - a Youth Issue

According to Youth for Human Rights millions of children under the age of 15 work all day long without any education and 600 million children live in poverty around the world.

No matter how one wants to view these, they are also human rights issues.

The Church of Scientology International
is committed to human rights. It is part of the Creed of the Church of Scientology that" all men of whatever race, color or creed were created with equal rights

The Church of Scientology International European Office for Public Affairs and Human Rights works with Scientology churches throughout Europe to further human rights by advancing effective Scientology solutions to the situations that prevent human rights and by exposing persons who work to prevent these rights from being implemented.

The Church also has a human rights newsroom and forum where issues are discussed and human rights activists are encouraged to submit and publish articles and editorials on human rights subjects.

GOOD NEWS - PEACE IN INDONESIA

I find it quite uplifting to pick up a newspaper and finding the headline "The Indonesian government finally sign a peace deal with rebels from the Free Aceh Movement." A 29-year conflict finally ended. Wow!! I mean this is great news. Conflicts actually can end and peace can be achieved! That is something the world should celebrate.

And I am proud to know that we did do something to help this country. See the volunteer ministers in action in Aceh. Great work!

Psychiatry is a Pseudoscience

Here is a page with links to various articles that show not only that psychiatry is a pseudoscience but also the fraud of the chemical imbalance theory, used to justify the drugging of many children, and the drugging of postpartum depression: Psychiatry is a Pseudoscience

The "Chemical Imbalance" Fraud

If you are interested in protecting children from abuse then you need to understand the truth about the "chemical imbalance" theory that is used as the reason for putting kids on psychotropic drugs. This page contains data and links that will inform you accurately on the subject: The "Chemical Imbalance" Fraud

The FDA Issues an Alert on ADD and ADHD drugs

The FDA is a slow-moving, very conservative (in the "careful" sense) organization, so when it issues a warning you better pay attention because the situation is probably much worse. Anyway, on June 28, 2005, the FDA finally ordered labeling changes to methylphenidate [Ritalin] products, including Concerta, to warn that these drugs can cause "psychiatric events." What does that mean? Well here are some of the list: "visual hallucinations, suicidal ideation, psychotic behavior, as well as aggression or violent behavior." In other words millions of kids in this country are taking stimulants that can cause suicide or become psychotic. Why do I say millions of kids? Because these drugs are used to treat the dreamed up mental disorder called Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder otherwise known as ADHD or ADD.

The antidepressants used to treat such mental disorders as anxiety disorder and depression have also been found to cause suicide and psychotic behavior in children. So the question becomes: Why are we giving our kids these things?

Tom Cruise, shooting straight

First of all, to set the story straight, Tom Cruise never said Brooke Shields shouldn't take anti-depressants. He stated, rather, that it was irresponsible of her to promote to others that they should use anti-depressants for treating post partum psychosis. And he only said it at all when baited into doing so in an interview.

There was this interesting information I found today on Big Happy Family blog

"Doctor Available to Address the Tom Cruise/Brooke Shields Controversy

Dr. Steven Hotze, author of "Hormones, Health and Happiness," says that in almost all cases, postpartum depression can be treated by balancing a new mother's hormones and without drug intervention.

(PREWB) June 2, 2005

-- In an interview this past week, Tom Cruise condemned Brooke Shields for taking the antidepressant Paxil during her postpartum depression. Dr. Steven Hotze, author of "Hormones, Health and Happiness," says that in almost all cases, postpartum depression can be treated by balancing a new mother's hormones and without drug intervention.

At the renowned Hotze Health and Wellness Center in Houston, Dr. Hotze and his staff of physicians have found that doing thorough checks of their patients' hormone levels and stabilizing them is much more effective and doesn't put the patient in a dazed drug state.

During pregnancy, the placenta produces massive quantities of progesterone-ten to twenty times the normal amount produced in a woman's body. After the baby is born, the woman's progesterone levels fall precipitously, leading to a state of estrogen dominance and functional hypothyroidism.

Postpartum depression in most cases, says Dr. Hotze, can be treated by taking natural bioidentical progesterone.

"You don't have to go to the measure of taking anti-depressants in most cases, there are natural safe alternatives," said Hotze.

He is available for interviews this week and will be in New York on Friday/Saturday."

I don't think the importance of education can be stressed enough.
We have an out-of-control situation as far as the literacy level
in this country (and many others)goes.

Our children are our future, yet we don't invest the time in them
in the right ways. Doing something that will ensure their future.
Instead we go along with the status quo and hope the schools and
Universities know what they are doing.

Unfortunately, this is just dreaming and such an attitude becomes
dangerous. We parents have to step away from what is "normal" and
find something effective that means our child will come away with
an understanding and an ability to apply what he has learned.

There is a method of learning that brings this about, it is the study
technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard. This is employed by all
Applied Scholastic facilities around the world with tremendous
success. With these study basics, kids can actually absorb and
understand. This makes learning fun, rather than a drudgery.

I have some links that tell you about this. Check it out:

ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS TO DRUGS:

There other ways to survive as a parent without having to resort to drugging your child, or yourself in order to cope. Children can be managed and you are capable of doing it if you have the tools to help you. Yes, even parents need to learn their trade.

I have personally raised two happy, well-balanced children who are now successful adults. I did it by learning how to be a good parent.

If this interests you, you should check it out. Don't take my word for it, here are others with similar successes:

“Becoming a Volunteer Minister has fulfilled my lifelong goal of being able to really help children. It never ceases to amaze me how easy it is to bring about change in any child. One instance I recall vividly was helping the parents of a small boy who was an absolute terror to the family, his school and himself. He was out of control and they were in despair. My training as a Volunteer Minister gave me the tools to tackle such a situation. But I wasn’t going to do the job of the parents. Instead, I coached them on exactly what they should do, using the data in the Children booklet from my training. Well, the child came straight and the parents now have something they can use to create a happy future for their child and themselves.” A.D.

“Life with my three kids was a living hell. What happened? Those beautiful babies and cute kids were now out of control monsters. I wondered how it got so bad. I blamed myself. A good friend of mine saw me ’drowning’ and threw me a lifesaver. It was the phone number of a Volunteer Minister. I called her up. She understood what I was going through and calmly and smoothly helped me put order into my life and got my children taking responsibility for the situation. It wasn’t me against them anymore. We became a team—a family. She gave me a booklet called Children and said I’d find the answers to happy children inside it. She was right! Because of this I recovered 3 ’best friends’ and made another one—a wonderful and caring Volunteer Minister. Thanks for all the love and help!” S.C.

Citizens Commission on Human Rights

Taking a Stand on Child Abuse by Psychiatry

Our schools have been infiltrated by drug pushers (oops - I mean psychs).

I can't imagine how I would survive if I were in school today.

If it isn't being forced to take drugs just because you're bored and the teacher is too preoccupied trying to help slower kids to give you something interesting to do, or having to answer terriby intrusive and embarassing questions in "Teen Screening," and being too young and un-empowered to just refuse (which is how I'd treat any such incursion against my human rights today) I think I'd have to learn to be the worlds most clever truent or make my folks send me to a private school (and I don't know if it's much better there!).

And as unbelievable as it may seem these "learning disorders," like ADHD, ADD and other so-called disabilities that require putting a child on medication are just based on opinion.

For a disease to be called a disease there has to be some evidence it actually exists. Doctors don't vote on whether cancer, AIDS or MS exist. They exist because the exist. Period. You can locate them with x-rays or blood tests or EEGs or MRIs.

But not so psychiatric diagnoses.

The reason you have a "disorder" if you drink too much coffee is because psychs have voted that it should be called a disorder.

If you read the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual you will be outraged to find that your entire life has been labled.

But what's worse - as soon as they vote a "disorder" into existence your insurance can not be billed for your "medication" to handle it.

CCHR is to be commended for their tireless work in exposing this scam.

I urge anyone reading this to study the issues. At the CCHR website you can download copies of a series of publications that blow the whistle on the fraud and quackery of the psychiatric profession.

It would be hysterically funny if it weren't so dangerous.
